How sweet it was to take a bike ride from Fanning Springs to Cross City. Had we had more time, we would have kept on riding! The trail was so well maintained; in fact when we were riding, we passed a worker clearing the trail with a blower attached to his golf cart. He was so very respectful. The views were nice, giving a flavor of this part of the country.
The bridge was the highlight. Signage was helpful when it came to any roadways we were to cross. Most of this part of the trail was exposed, so if you are sensitive to the sun, beware! Thanks to the Florida State Parks system. You've done well with this State Trail!
This is a great rail trail. They keep it clean and well repaired. Although as a skater, you do have to watch for pavement cracks and acorns that will trip you up. The trip down to the river is very pretty and if you go in the early morning quietly, you may see deer.
